Allan Ntata has reportedly struck a deal with State House to discredit former President Arthur Peter Mutharika and other opposition figures. As part of this arrangement, Ntata is set to receive MK 2 million monthly, channeled through Maxwell Ng’ambi, also known as Mulotwa Mulotwa, who allegedly switched allegiance to the government after a similar arrangement.
Last week, State House disbursed MK 2 million to Ntata as a “Presidential gift,” with funds withdrawn from the Lilongwe National Bank branch. The payment voucher was reportedly signed by the Director of Finance and an accounts clerk to avoid any direct link to State House.
Ng’ambi, who now works with State House, divides his time between Malawi and Zambia, with travel expenses covered by taxpayers. Meanwhile, Ntata has shifted focus to criticizing Mutharika rather than addressing issues such as corruption, economic decline, and food insecurity under the Chakwera administration.
At a time when many Malawians are struggling with poverty and hunger, the government’s alleged use of public funds to secure political loyalty raises serious concerns ahead of the September 16 elections.
