There is a disturbing situation unfolding at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), as revealed through internal cables.
A power struggle has emerged over the position of Director of Legal and Prosecutions (DLP), with two individuals linked to different political administrations .
One appointed during the DPP era and the other during the MCP era , both wanting to occupy the same role.
The substantive office holder, Counsel Chrispin Khunga, was seconded to the Ministry of Justice during the MCP administration, while Victor Chiwala served as Acting DLP throughout the MCP regime period.
The current DPP government has since reinstated Khunga to his original position at the ACB.
However, Victor Chiwala has continued to occupy the role in an acting capacity, effectively resulting in two individuals functioning in the same position simultaneously.
Both are reportedly using government vehicles, receiving fuel allocations, and benefiting from associated privileges , all at the expense of taxpayers.
This situation raises serious concerns about leadership, accountability, and the prudent use of public resources within the bureau.
Cables can only reveal and are monitoring the situation.
