MDF Commander PV Phiri Hospitalized In RSA Following Suspected Assassination Attempt By Poison

The situation within the outgoing government of President Lazarus Chakwera continues to unfold, with reports emerging of an alleged assassination attempt on Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Commander Paul Valentino Phiri.

Sources indicate that General Phiri has spent three weeks at Garden City Hospital in South Africa after reportedly being poisoned by unknown individuals. While his condition remains critical, there have been signs of improvement, according to insiders in South Africa.

Despite the severity of the incident, both the Malawi Defence Force and the Ministry of Defence have remained silent on the matter. The lack of official communication has only fueled speculation about the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.
