Serious allegations have emerged surrounding Parliamentary Public Appointments Committee Chairperson Felix Njawala, who is alleged to be shielding Blantyre Water Board (BWB) Chairperson Chirwa from appearing before the parliamentary committee.
Only Cables can confidently reveal .
According to information received by Cables, Njawala has an active contract with Blantyre Water Board to supply chlorine.
Cables has further been informed that Njawala is using his position and influence within the committee to prevent Chirwa from appearing before Parliament.
Our sources also confided to us that, should Chirwa eventually appear before parliament , Njawala intends to push for a closed-door session, with deliberations conducted in camera rather than broadcast live for Malawians to follow.
Why should Malawians be denied the opportunity to follow parliamentary proceedings involving a public institution if there is no legitimate reason for secrecy?
Public accountability must never be compromised by potential conflicts of interest.
Malawians deserve transparency, and the truth must come out.
