Some Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) students have obtained a court injunction restraining the college from denying them access to end-semester examination, despite having paid the examination fees.
Through their Lawyer, Geoffrey Pascal, students alleged that the college’s electronic system for downloading the e-docket: electronic document used for accessing examination collapsed, making it challenging for them to access it.
The students claim that instead of rectifying the problem, the college sent emails to the students, indicating that they would have to write deferred examinations and pay an extra K50,000 per paper.
The College Registrar insisted that the E-docket system would not be re-opened, because the students were given enough opportunities to settle arrears and access the e-documents.
