Two people have died following a road accident occurred at Atiel Academy along the M1 Mponela-Lilongwe Road in Dowa involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Probox.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Sub Inspector Alice Sitima the accident occurred when motorcycle which is not registered carrying a passenger, collided with the Toyota Probox, registration number MC 7726.
Sub-Inspector Sitima said the motorcycle rider and passenger sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at Dowa District Hospital.
Identities of the deceased remain unknown while the driver and three passengers in the Probox sustained minor injuries and were treated as outpatients.
