The State House security forces of the outgoing  government of Malawi Congress Party led by Reverend Lazarus Chakwera have beaten and injured the councilor of the United Democratic Front (UDF) party in Ruo area in Nsanje district, Mariko Mulotali.

This is said to have happened in the morning hours of today  when the councilor was heard saying the leadership of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) led by Pastor  Lazarus Chakwera has failed Malawians and the nation during the  launch of  the construction of new Makhanga Primary and Makhanga CDSS schools in the district.

Councilor Mulotali has confirmed to Malawi Cables that he was beaten by the State House security forces and injured in the process.

However, MCP spokesperson Jessie Kabwira said the councilor was beaten by State House as they did not  recognized him.

Kabwira said the matter has now been resolved and he is working with the council while the outgoing President Lazarus Chakwera is visiting development projects.
