Minister of Education Science and Technology Bright Msaka says Public Universities tuition fees will remain at a minimum of K1.3 million, citing rising costs of running high learning institutions in the country.
Speaking today at Parliament Msaka said the ministry will not lower the fees due to financial pressures the Universities and colleges are facing since the last fees adjustment which was done in 2023.
Reacting to the minister’s speech member of Parliament for Lilongwe Nyanja Constituency Steve Malondera has called on government to reconsider its position as high fees could have great impact on the needy students.
Recently almost all public universities adjusted their tuition fees up to K1.3 million per academic year from K650 0000.
