Super League of Malawi (SULOM) president Brigadier General Gilbert Mittawa has endorsed Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya for another term in office as 2027 elections approach.
Mittawa says Haiya has achieved many things within a short period of time and deserves more time in office.
He indicated that with the progress football in the country has made during Haiya’s period he sees no competitor to the current FAM president.
Mittawa further said that this endorsement is not from SULOM but rather from him as individual saying SULOM will have its decision on which candidate to go with during the 2027 FAM polls.
Currently Haiya has gained more than five endorsements from five association that include Northern Region Football Association (NRFA), Central Region Football Association (CRFA), Southern Region Football Association (SRFA), Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) and Beach Soccer Association.
